We packed up a U-Haul and our 2008 Hyundai Entourage and headed up the eastern seaboard. Our van was nearing in at a quarter of a million miles, requiring a lot, and I mean a LOT of maintenance to keep her on the road. When we got up to New York, we decided it best to keep the vehicle registered in the state of Florida. We knew the car had a snowballs chance in H*ll to pass a New York State inspection. As time went on, we started to notice that the 1100 mile trip had certainly taken its toll on our old van. We knew that we wanted to start saving for a downpayment on a car. About two weeks ago, our dashboard lit up with every light you don’t want to see. We knew we were either going to have to spend a ton of money to fix the car, and wait for the next maintenance issue to pop up, or just throw in the towel and get a new vehicle. Our experience with Basil Resale was nothing short of incredible. We came into the dealership with the intention to be transparent. We don’t have a lot of money for a downpayment, and we don’t have the best credit history. And while most dealerships would hear that and show us the quickest route to the exit, Basil went above and beyond. For starters, we knew we needed a specific car, something safe, reliable, and spacious enough for our family. The wonderful sales team found us a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. We thought there was no way we would be able to get a car that nice, and if we did we would be strapped with an extremely expensive car note. However, Patrick, Chris and Avian all went above and beyond to help us leave the dealership with keys in hand. While we did spend the majority of the day in the dealership, not a second of the experience was wasted. Avian was amazing. He had just come back from vacation and was an absolute dream to work with.
