I recently had a frustrating experience at the Fife Honda service where we leased our Honda Prologue.  Fife Honda had my car for days, said it was fixed and my husband picked it up after hours on the weekend. Unfortunately he didn’t notice that the car was in “transport mode” and the tailgate was mysteriously no longer working and the battery light was still flashing. Since this car is my daily driver I noticed on my way to work early the next morning. Megan came to my rescue by squeezing me in at West Hills Honda Service on short notice. She reviewed the records I had from the previous service visit at Fife, wrote up the service ticket so that all the issues would get reviewed and fixed.  In the end the fix was relatively easy (turning off transport mode) but she didn’t want to run the risk of me getting home and having other issues creep up. So she made sure that the software update was properly installed, had them run the diagnostic and drive it to ensure everything was functioning properly. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate her attention to detail and personally calling over to Fife Service to see what happened. It saved me so much time going to West Hills and knowing that the job was done correctly this time was such a relief. On Monday morning, I dropped off my car because my check engine light was turning on. I specifically went in for a diagnostic to find the problem. Instead, they recommended other services, including adding brake fluid and replacing a missing headlight, which cost me almost $400. They told me that after these repairs the check engine light should turn off.\n\nThat same night, after driving less than 10 miles, the check engine light came back on. Clearly the original problem had not been fixed. The next day I brought my car back, and they told me they would charge me a diagnostic fee this time because it was not charged the day before due to the other services they performed—even though the diagnostic was the reason I came in originally.\n\nThey were also unable to work with my extended warranty, and after the poor customer service I experienced, I decided not to continue working with them and took my car to another shop. At the new shop, I was told that my brake fluid was actually overfilled, which was causing another issue. This means I likely did not need the brake fluid service they recommended in the first place.\n\nOverall, I wasted a lot of time and money, and my original issue was never resolved by their service department.
